George A. Davidson has been engaged in litigation and arbitration of complex international and domestic disputes at the firm of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP for more than 40 years. He has represented clients in trials throughout the United States and in arbitration hearings under the ICC and UNCITRAL rules in the United States and abroad.

ADR Experience and Qualifications

  • He is experienced as chair, party-appointed arbitrator and sole arbitrator in complex ICDR and AAA commercial cases including for example several claims by investors in hedge funds, a dispute among principals of a hedge fund, an international dispute over a sales agency agreement with a mining company, a claim by a bankruptcy trustee against the bankrupt’s auditor, a contract claim by a health insurer against several hospitals, a claim by a franchiser against a franchisee, and a claim by a holder of death spiral debt against the insurer
  • He has significant litigation experience in:

  • He has participated in numerous arbitration training sessions and conferences provided by such organizations as International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Center for Public Resources (CPR), American Arbitration Association (AAA), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), International Bar Association (IBA), International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), New York State Bar Association, International Arbitration Club of New York, and NYU Center for Transnational Litigation and Commercial Law
  • He serves as a referee in lawyer disciplinary hearings by appointment of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, First Department
