New York based for more than a decade and native German, Martin Gusy is a dual-licensed common law-civil law international disputes practitioner co-chairing K&L Gates' international arbitration group.

Mr Gusy has served as sole arbitrator, president of the tribunal and party-appointed arbitrator in more than two dozen ICC, AAA/ICDR, UNCITRAL and ad hoc arbitrations. He has been a member of the AAA/ICDR International Roster of Arbitrators and Mediators since 2010 and is co-author of the second edition of OUP’s A Guide to the ICDR International Arbitration Rules. Mr Gusy is peer recognised for his international legal experience and broad range of substantive experience, including cross-border projects, joint ventures, post-M&A, technology, manufacturing and engineering, energy, oil and gas, mining, banking and finance, construction, distribution and franchising, insurance, IP protection and IP licensing. He benefits from prior work experiences in Frankfurt, Singapore, Paris, Houston and São Paulo. Mr Gusy advises clients from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North and South America and Australia, and has counselled dozens of parties in international arbitrations under rules including those of the ICC, ICSID, AAA/ICDR, JAMS, LCIA, UNCITRAL, DIS and VIAC, and the SIAC International Arbitration Rules.
