Mélida Hodgson leads Jenner & Block’s international arbitration practice in New York. She represents parties, primarily States and state-related entities, in commercial and investment arbitrations. Her work has included several high profile victories for Venezuela in multi-million and billion dollar disputes. Her areas of expertise include infrastructure, mining, energy, and transportation disputes. She is also currently sitting as arbitrator, including as sole or chair, of disputes under AAA/ICDR and ICC rules. Mélida is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and is a Vice- Chair of the ICC Institute for World Business Law. She is ranked by Chambers, and is recognized by Legal 500 and as a Thought Leader by Who’s Who Arbitration.
