The Third Annual Smit-Lowenfeld Prize for best scholarly article in the field of international arbitration went to Gary Born for his article “A New Generation of International Adjudication”. which appeared in the January 2012 issue of the Duke Law Journal. The article examines the use of international tribunals as an attractive alternative to traditional public-international-law adjudicatory bodies.
